With his live stand-up special “Happy To Be Here” currently streaming on ITVX and Amazon Prime, American born Russell Hicks has established himself as one of the UK’s sharpest and most exciting comedians on the circuit today. He is also touring the show nationwide, including a completely sold-out run at the Leicester Square Theatre in London’s West End.

This year he appeared in major feature films The Running Man (dir. Edgar Wright)  and Maintenance Required (Amazon MGM).​

Russell starred in the Prime Video series Lovestruck High, which was narrated by Lindsay Lohan, as the loveable Texan Coach Hughes.  He’s written for and starred in ITV’s Stand Up Sketch Show and won the Channel 4 competition series Captive Audience with his fully improvised stand-up.
Russell regularly entertains studio audiences at Have I Got News For You, The Last Leg, and Alan Davies: As Yet Untitled. He is a Spotlight registered actor and enjoys both comic and dramatic roles.



 

A talented voice actor, Russell is the voice of Sky Comedy and Great Big Story, and frequently works for international brands in global campaigns. He is a presenter on Yahoo Entertainment.  

 

Russell headlines at every major comedy club across the UK, including The Stand, Glee Club, Just The Tonic, Chuckl. Up the Creek and many more Pro UK Comedy Clubs.  

 

Well loved, He also holds MC residencies at "Top Secret Comedy Club" in London and "Fuzzy Bear Comedy" in Windsor.

Russell also regularly comperes major events such as the Leeds and Reading Festivals, as well as curated indie venues, historic theatres like the Hammersmith Apollo, and exclusive private members’ clubs across Europe. In recognition of his prolific and outstanding live work, he was endorsed as a Global Talent by Arts Council England in 2022.

 

Alongside his UK success, Russell is a regular performer at some of the USA’s most iconic comedy venues, including The Comedy Store, The Improv and The Laugh Factory.​
