Sarah Johnson’s amiable nature and saucy, raucous content is delivered in a charming and confident style which is reminiscent of some of Britain’s greatest female comedians, Drawing on her experiences from both the world of entertainment and as a wife and mother, Sarah’s act is a refreshingly candid take on modern life — bold, unfiltered, and utterly relatable. 

 

A year at Birmingham Old Repertory Theatre School, followed by a combined degree in Media, Performing Arts and Arts Management with De Montfort University led Johnson down a path intrinsically linked to the world of live events; and her 22-year career as a stage manager is a testament to her knowledge and passion for live entertainment. Her accomplishments don’t just take place off-stage, though.  A 26-year stint as a comedy waitress with Spanner In The Works cut her teeth to the world of improvised performance, working corporate events amongst the regular waiting staff and creating “a whole host of amusing and unusual capers” for the guests.
However, as her DMU dissertation on female stand-up would suggest, Johnson has always had a desire to go solo on the comedy stage; and in 2015 she did just that, making her debut at Alan Seaman’s Ship of Fool comedy club, as part of the Leicester Comedy Festival. Since then, she has gigged all over the UK. Drawing on her experiences from both the world of entertainment and as a wife and mother; Sarah’s act is a refreshingly candid take on modern life — bold, unfiltered, and utterly relatable.
