Terry Alderton

One of Britain's most unique live performers, Terry Alderton has spent more than three decades building a reputation as one of the most original, unpredictable and exhilarating performers in British entertainment.

 

Blending stand-up, storytelling, character comedy, acting and sheer theatrical energy, Terry has created a style entirely his own. Renowned for his extraordinary caricatures, razor-sharp observations and the famous battles with the two inner voices that interrupt his train of thought, every performance carries a genuine sense of excitement—you never quite know what is going to happen next.

 

A familiar face to television audiences, Terry's appearances include BBC's Live at the Apollo, Michael McIntyre's Comedy Roadshow, The Royal Variety Performance, The Jonathan Ross Show, The Harry Hill Show, Dave's One Night Stand and the BBC Saturday Night Lottery Show.

 

Alongside his comedy career, Terry has enjoyed a successful acting career, appearing in Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels and EastEnders, among numerous television and film projects.

 

The Scotsman described him as "the comedy thrill of a lifetime", while The Times praised his "dizzying inventiveness". Fellow comedian Eddie Izzard perhaps summed him up best: "He's a very funny man with a fantastic comedy mind, but someone who really ought to seek some sort of professional help."

 

Today, Terry continues to entertain audiences both on stage and online. His comedy sketches, characters and observations have found a new generation of fans across social media, where he is followed  on Instagram andTikTok.

 

In 2026, Terry returns to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, featuring in one of the cast of “Eleven And A Half Angry Men”, adding another exciting chapter to a career defined by fearless originality and unforgettable live performance.
